Marco Wong
I am passionate about volunteering and charity work, having been actively involved since Year 7. As the Sponsorship Officer for RAG for the past year, I have loved working with the committee and being part of the student community. My role has given me valuable experience, including a handover and extensive communication with the current Treasurer, preparing me well for this position.
Previously, in my sixth form in the UK, I was a student councillor and a member of the charity committee, organizing events such as the Poppy Appeal and Shoebox Appeal. These roles have equipped me with strong organizational and leadership skills.
I am currently on the committee of the Imperial football team, where I have learned important finance-related lessons. If elected as Treasurer, I will work efficiently and resourcefully to manage the society’s finances and raise as much money for charity as possible. This experience, combined with my passion for social issues and helping underprivileged groups, makes me confident in my ability to contribute positively as Treasurer.
I believe my hardworking attitude and ability to work well with diverse teams will be an asset to the committee. I am committed to making a positive impact on both Imperial RAG and the wider community. There is a Cantonese saying that translates to "There is more happiness in helping others than in helping yourself." This sentiment drives my desire to join the committee and support those in need.
