Dorsa Daleri
Hello everyone!
I’m Dorsa, and I would love to be your next Roadshow Officer. As someone from an underrepresented background, I deeply appreciate the impact that widening participation programs can have. This is why I aspire to join Vision, aiming to make a genuine difference for prospective students.
As an active member of the RAG committee this year, I’ve gained valuable experience that directly aligns with the responsibilities of this role. Launching “Own It,” a public health initiative in collaboration with St Mary’s Hospital has developed my organisational and leadership skills by coordinating meetings, developing session plans, recruiting volunteers, and overseeing educational sessions for +150 students. This experience has prepared me to engage effectively with committee, volunteers and students as Roadshow Officer.
My aims:
- Support the chair in creating a series of informative talks and workshops based on direct student feedback to maximise their usefulness. This involves using feedback forms to gather student input and actively listen to their needs, helping us to refine our program for the best outcomes.
- Establish a comprehensive event timeline+ develop an event allocation spreadsheet to ensure sufficient volunteer coverage and accommodate everyone's schedules
- Implement a buddy mentoring scheme to pair students with mentors for personalised advice, optimising their understanding of the medical application process
- Collaborating with other societies to broaden our reach and impact. By working together, we can engage with a wider audience and strength our community outreach efforts!
Thank you for reading my manifesto! ❤️💙💛
