My initial exposure to anaesthetics was fascinating, and the dynamic and fast-paced environment immediately intrigued me. I was particularly amazed by paediatric anaesthetists—their patience, expertise, and adaptability when working with active young children left a lasting impression on me.
The ability to provide critical interventions during emergencies is highly rewarding and fulfilling, complemented by the intellectual stimulation that comes with diverse medical challenges. Although I have not had extensive exposure to acute care, I am eager to be the conference organizer to gain deeper insights into the field and to create a high-quality, engaging conference that cultivates interest in acute care medicine.
My various committee roles have developed my communication and teamwork skills. I understand the importance of synergy within a team and how collective efforts surpass individual contributions. Working with diverse groups has honed my interpersonal skills and taught me to adapt my communication, ensuring effective information exchange with committee, delegates, and speakers.
I consider myself responsible and well-organized, with strong time management skills. As the Dr Me Student Lead, piloting a new community engagement project, I planned all school visits for the year, and recruited volunteers, demonstrating my accountability and organizational prowess. Additionally, in my previous role as the Director of AMSEP England (international exchange program), I organized events, liaised with academics for lectures and workshops, prepared necessary equipment, and promoted the event.
With my compassion, enthusiasm, and dedication, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to an event that inspires and supports future medical professionals.
