Yun Hui Tan

Hello! I am Abigail/ Yun Hui, and I am running to be Head of Media for Cardiovascular society! Having several close family members who suffered from cardiac conditions, cardiology is a field dear to my heart. Publicity and media is also my interest, as I am passionate in creating outreach and scientific content and attract more people to come for the eye-opening conferences.

I was the official photographer for the Reconstructing the Stereotype and Microsurgery conferences in iPRAS. In addition, as publicity representative for my high school’s mathematics interest groups, I created Instagram posts and newsletters that make math theorems interesting through visuals and real-life applications. I was also in charge of writing and editing the newsletters for my high school's chemistry interest group. I believe these skills are transferable to enable me to creative effective, attention-grabbing publicity material for cardiovascular society.

Having been part of iPRAS and SurgSoc subcommittee for the past year, I helped in tasks from procuring conference supplies, refreshments and set up/ cleanup, to ushering and interacting with delegates and demonstrators. This has given me a deeper understanding of the logistics, coordination and flow needed to run conferences. I believe I am equipped to step up and lead more conference preparations for cardiovascular society.

I aim to introduce sneak peaks at conferences in Instagram posts, and post about cardiology fun facts more often to increase visibility and publicity of cardiovascular society. Also, some conference photos could be released to participants for their memories, upon their request.
