Asian Medical Students Association: AMSEP Officer

AMSA has proved itself to be an exciting place for me to meet awesome new people and have a blast outside medical school, but throughout my two eventful terms spent with AMSA, the key thing I noticed was the strong influence of our Asian cultural roots on AMSA spirit. Having read the AMSEP constitution, I’ve become a firm believer that AMSEP is the best way for participating members to connect with Asian culture firsthand, leading me to develop a passion for this position.

If elected, I aim to not only promote AMSA’s values of knowledge, action, and friendship but also to enhance the cultural foundation of forthcoming AMSA activities by facilitating cultural exchange through the AMSEP exchange program.

Campaign promises:

  • Host More Inbound AMSEP Programs - Work with the KCL AMSEP officer and AMSA regional chair to encourage visits from overseas chapters
  • More Affordable AMSEP - Subsidise the exchange program using collaborative fundraising initiatives to make it cheaper and more accessible
  • Insights From Overseas - integrate our learning from exchanges into AMSEP and academic programs
  • Increase Collaboration - establish long-lasting relationships with overseas AMSA chapters (overseas mentorship, international conferences)
  • Societal Beneficence - Incorporate volunteering into AMSEP to ensure sustainable, positive social impact on host country
