Ayushi Gianchandani
Joint manifesto from Ayushi Gianchandani & Yousuf Yaqub (Running for RTS co-chairs)
Over the past two years we have worked together successfully as Academic Reps, allowing us to develop a healthy and productive working relationship. Additionally, we’ve held key roles in organising and leading conferences for SurgSoc, giving us insight into what makes a good surgical conference and the different likely logistical challenges to come up. Between us we also have extensive experience working with national bodies such as the Royal Society of Medicine, organising national events featuring high-profile speakers and managing complex logistics.
Our vision for the RTS conference includes innovative workshops and a dynamic lineup of speakers that reflect the forefront of reconstructive plastics. We would like to introduce sessions on emerging technologies and entrepreneurship within the field, highlighting the latest advancements and opportunities for innovation. Another focus will be reconstruction in conflict zones, addressing the unique challenges and solutions in these environments. Additionally, we would like to explore the critical intersection of plastics and oncology, showcasing groundbreaking work in reconstructive techniques for cancer patients. We are committed to enhancing the educational value of the conference and making it an enriching experience by incorporating interactive elements and fostering a platform for meaningful dialogue between the next generation of reconstructive plastic surgeons.
Together, we are confident that our experience, collaborative spirit, and forward-thinking vision will elevate the RTS conference to new heights, building off the amazing work from last year’s committee!
Ayushi & Yousuf :)
