Vishal Vijay Kumar

Hi everyone,

My name is Vishal and I'm a current 2nd year medic. I'm running for this position so that I can help educate and excite other students about genetics and the new up and coming innovations in genetics.

I've always been interested in genetics and how knowledge of it and how to manipulate it to our advantage can be used in a clinical context such as in genetic screenings or gene therapies.

This interest was further compounded upon by genetics teaching in the PoM module which I found quite interesting.

As academic officer, I'd hope to organise some genetics teaching sessions to help first year medics with the PoM module and perhaps also some in depth discussion sessions about various topics in genetics within the society.
