Aeronautics (UG): Year Two Academic Representative

Dear fellow students,

I am excited to present my candidacy for the role of Aero Academic Rep. I believe that together we can enhance our academic experience and propel our department to new heights ‍✈️.

Vision

My vision is to create an academic community where every student feels heard and supported. I aim to bridge the gap between students and faculty, ensuring that our collective voice influences curriculum development, research opportunities, and overall departmental growth.

Goals

  1. Enhanced Communication:

    • Establish regular communication between students and faculty.
    • Build on existing platforms to facilitate sharing of ideas, concerns, and suggestions regarding our coursework and departmental policies.

  2. Curriculum Development:

    • Advocate for curriculum reviews that incorporate emerging technologies, and get rid of those that have proved to not align with our learning styles (such as OneNote and lectures that are entirely Menti quizzes)
    • Collaborate with faculty to improve on existing labs to better align with our learning objectives

  3. Advocacy and Support:

    • Represent student interests in departmental meetings, ensuring that our concerns are prioritized.
    • Work closely with university administration to secure resources that support our academic and extracurricular initiatives.

Conclusion

Having been rep in three different schools in my past, and having led various engineering teams, once even to national finals, I believe I have the skills to represent our interests effectively. Together, we can elevate our academic experience and prepare for successful careers in aeronautics.
