hi everyone, i’m lucy! i’m an international student from hk, i’ve loved meeting everyone so far and i look forward to working with you all over the next years!
i’m running to be your academic rep as i believe i can help effectively advocate for what our cohort wants. i love to engage in debate (yapper) and to fight for what i believe. here are some of my intial ideas to improve the academic experience at imp so far:
- better timetables
even though these changes might be unrealistic, i’ll try my best to advocate for more reasonable timeslots; as someone living in wilson, i know the struggle of a 9am lecture
- increased urop opportunities
first years should get more research and internship opportunities! i plan to coordinate with the careers department to bring more chemistry-catered opportunities for us; so we have more options instead of just mass emailing random professors.
- shared academic resources
after structure and bonding, everyone would benefit more organized and condensed resources for review and assignments (etc. formula sheets). feel free to ask me for my notes as well!
- increased networking with other unis
have friends in kcl, ucl or other uk unis? having stronger connections with other uni students and departments helps us all!
- therapy dog
life science students have holly, shouldn't we have someone as well?
besides chem, i'm a boulderer (still can't do a pullup). i also love listening to alt music, gaming, and cats!! please feel free to dm me (@nweshyy) :D
