Civil & Environmental Engineering (UG): Year Four Academic Representative

Hi everyone!

I'm Yousuf Khan, your third year academic rep, and I'm running again this year.

Why am I running again? Because this year will be one of the most important of our lives – and you deserve someone who will work hard and can handle the role properly. After doing it once, I’ve learnt how important experience is. Being your rep isn't simple or straightforward, it requires constant replying to messages, fielding requests, and chasing people up. But I genuinely enjoy being your representative, which motivates me to give it my all. And now that I know the ins and outs of the role, I'm confident I can do it even better this year.

Some things I did (and can do again), as academic rep:

Organised revision sessions before exams.
Helped extend coursework deadlines.
Stayed in constant communication with both the cohort and lecturers.
Dealt with requests whenever asked, at any time, any day.
Helped re-timetable courseworks (second term was originally going to be even more full).
Set up office hours.
Attended departmental meetings to provide feedback and raise points, which helped us and the years below.
Got rid of concrete CW

In case my experience and passion isn’t enough to vote for me, I’m not above a little bribery I want to highlight how committed I am to being a rep that anyone can approach with their feedback/questions, to make this our smoothest year yet.
