Hello!! I'm Sally and I am running to be your Year 1 Academic Representative. As new biochem students, it is important that we build a strong foundation for the rest of our degree in the first year.
💡 I believe that this could be best done through:
- Resource banks including videos, diagrams, and problem sets for foundational biology, chemistry, and maths. So whether you took the A-levels, IBs, EBs, APs, or only studied one or two STEM subjects, we will be able to catch each other up!
- Organized study groups after those extra tricky lectures and before coursework deadlines for when we need that extra motivation and assistance.
- A database of common questions and answers, updated regularly, and advice collected from upper years.
With this, we will be more prepared and can get better marks on exams and coursework. 🎉

- Reply extremely quickly (and enthusiastically) to your messages, whether it be on Instagram, WhatsApp, or email (I have 0 unread emails/messages on all <3).
- Meet with staff and departmental reps regularly to raise your academic concerns. I will be a constant reminder for the department/union if things aren't going the best they could be >:).
- Keep you informed with any opportunities or updates on my activities, or those of senior representatives and the department.
- Offer to contact staff (for course-related enquiries) when your anxiety won't let you :D
