Hey everyone! I’m Akshita Barwad, your friendly international student from India, currently studying MRes Biomedical Research at Imperial. I’m passionate about helping others and making sure everyone feels happy and supported in our community!

As your Welfare Officer, my mission is to create a warm and welcoming environment for all students. Here’s what I’ll focus on:

Mental Health Matters: I believe that taking care of our minds is just as important as our studies. I’ll work to improve access to mental health resources and organize cozy workshops where we can learn to manage stress together.

Inclusive Support: Whether you’re an international student or just looking for someone to talk to, I want to make sure everyone feels included. I’ll create safe spaces for discussions, fun activities, and peer support groups to foster friendship and understanding.

Helpful Resources: From navigating university life to personal challenges, I’ll ensure that you have easy access to the resources you need. Together, we can create a network of support to help you thrive.
