Hello, I’m Tianhao LI, and I’m running to be your LGBTQ+ Students Postgraduate Officer. I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for LGBTQ+ postgraduate students at Imperial. Here’s how I will work to support our community:

Enhance LGBTQ+ Support Services: I will advocate for expanded mental health and well-being services that cater specifically to LGBTQ+ needs. This includes ensuring accessible counseling, peer support networks, and health resources tailored to our community.

Promote Awareness and Inclusivity: I will organize events, workshops, and campaigns to raise awareness about LGBTQ+ issues and celebrate important events like Pride, Trans Awareness Week, and LGBTQ+ History Month. These initiatives will help foster a culture of inclusivity across campus.

Combat Discrimination and Ensure Safe Spaces: I will work to improve reporting mechanisms for homophobia, transphobia, and any form of discrimination, ensuring incidents are taken seriously. I’ll advocate for more gender-neutral facilities and safe spaces for LGBTQ+ students.

Support Career Development: I will collaborate with the Careers Service to provide resources and workshops that address the unique challenges LGBTQ+ students may face in the workplace. This includes networking opportunities and support for those navigating disclosure in professional settings.

Strengthen Community Connections: I will work closely with LGBTQ+ societies to support their activities and create social spaces where postgraduate students can connect and find support.
