I am excited to announce my candidacy for Annual Conference Chair alongside Rasha this year with our goal to enhance collaboration, foster knowledge and elevate the experience for all our members.

Being deeply involved in event planning over the past few years, serving as the Head of Events for the Imperial Tamil Society and working with MTS Events has equipped me with valuable skills. Coordinating schedules, liaising with vendors, and connecting with performers to ensure successful events. I am eager to bring this expertise to our Annual Conference and create an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

This year, we aim to introduce new concepts and objectives:

Engaging, Relevant Content: We want to ensure our speakers provide expert insights and focus on real-world applications in public health and general practice. These topics will take centre stage to make the conference both educational and practical.

Hands-On, Practical Workshops: Building on last year, we propose expanding into more immersive experiences, such as simulation-based GP training and interactive case discussions.

Portfolio Careers Carousel: One key aims is to introduce a networking session showcasing the diversity within GP careers. Attendees will have the chance to meet GPs with various professional profiles—whether it’s academia, clinical practice, or other special interests- including guidance on the GP training pathway, competitive entry points, speciality exams and advice on shaping your career to fit personal goals.
