Megan Haysom

Hi! I'm Megan and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to stand as your Year 1&2 Events Officer!

As a 1st year, I recognise I do not have much experience at Imperial, however, I believe my past experiences have prepared me well for this role. I was a young leader with Girlguiding, allowing me an in-depth insight into how large-scale events are organised. Furthermore, throughout my academic journey, I have planned various events and fundraisers. This has allowed me to practice organising and running large-scale events, making me the perfect candidate for this role. I have even organised a same-day trip to Taylor Swift! I am eager to improve these skills and gain further knowledge in this role.

My vision for this role is to create inclusive and enjoyable events for everyone. I will achieve this by working closely with the Social Sec and Treasurer to create events that are possible and benefit those involved. My main aim is to organise and run events that include both years. I want to do this to facilitate a closer relationship between years that allows for everyone to meet new people and creates a more cohesive relationship amongst the cohort. I am prepared for all the challenges this role provides and ready to meet them head-on!
