Mary Obigbesan

Hi, my name is Mary, and I would like to put myself forward for the role of general secretary of GP society. I developed a deep appreciation for general practice during my placement last year. My experience showed me how versatile primary care is and how rewarding it is being able to monitor patients throughout all stages of their care. Being part of this society would allow me to share my enthusiasm to keen students and even engage students who wouldn't usually consider this speciality.

As general secretary, I will make sure that meetings and events are well-organised. I will also ensure that members receive timely updates on events and work closely with the committee to support the society’s goals. I am a team-player, proactive and committed to allowing the GP society to run smoothly.

I take pride in my organisational skills which have been further developed through my role as a hall senior. I have an active role in hosting fresher events and my experience has equipped me with the skills to organise engaging activities and help students connect with one another. As secretary, my aim is to foster an inclusive environment where every member feels valued and heard.
