Hey everyone! I'm Wasit Tahami, a second-year medical student running to be Academic Officer for Early Years. Now that’s a mouthful, and you’d be just like me a month ago if you’re thinking ‘So what’s this one about then?’

Essentially, this role allows me to be your bridge to faculty – any feedback or complaints about anything nitty gritty with lecture content and presentation, to the more bigger CPA mock and everything else in between – I'll be your go-to person for any suggestions you have! Think of me as a senior academic rep, with a bit more responsibilities, hopefully making studying medicine a little less troublesome 😊

If you vote for me, I’ll push for:

• An improved faculty CPA mock – let’s be honest, 2 stations just isn’t cutting it
• A formal mock exam (in person!!) for Year 2's, because real exams need real preparation
• A much-needed review on lecture slide presentation (the students yearn for the high yield yellow boxes)
• An incentivised approach to feedback surveys (let’s be real here we’ve intentionally skipped filling some of them)

I’m someone who is passionate about medical education, and having delivered tutorials and making mock papers for Year 1's, I can visibly notice the gap between what ICSMSU provides exam preparation wise compared to what faculty provide – this needs to be addressed, firstly by fixing the feedback system, which has seen poor results year on year
