Thank you for visiting! I am Madhulika, a first-year student who chose Biological Sciences to learn about biodiversity loss, and help make this world a better habitat for all life.
Why vote for me?
I am committed – My love for our planet enabled a smooth vegetarian-to-vegan transition. Also check out my book: ‘Earth A damsel in distress,’ 19 poems that converse in the language of conservation.
I love to communicate – In 2024, I won Bronze in the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay competition for a speech ‘His majesty the King would give’ on the current ecological crisis. I believe active listening initiates two-way communication.
I believe in collaboration– As a IEMA certified Green Impact Environmental Auditor, I can help find the gaps and scopes of improvement in Imperial’s initiatives.
What I hope to do:
- Robust feedback system – Bridging gaps through problem-solving: drop-ins and readily available surveys. Meat-free Mondays, Cheat meat cards, reusable-container-challenge – Your thoughts?
- Imperial's Sustainability Bulletin Board: an up-to-date transparent page on everything – successes and setbacks!
- Sustainability Updates on Felix: Those interested receive emails (that get lost) so how about a super-mini update section for a brief scan?
- Sustainabili-Tea: Like the sustainability fortnight but frequent and diverse – debates, brain-storming solutions – you name it.
- Meditation and Yoga sessions: We forget connecting with nature in our busy lives: sessions at many locations – in and around campuses.
I came to Imperial because QS ranked it Best in Sustainability. I aspire for us to keep this up.
