Computing (UG): Departmental Wellbeing Representative

Hey there! If we haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet, my name is Rodrigo, and I am seeking to represent you as your Departmental Wellbeing Representative for the academic year 2025-2026. I am a passionate and sociable first-year student who will always greet you with a smile, and I want to ensure that the wellbeing of Computing students is well maintained—especially given how stressful and taxing aspects of life can be as we transition into adulthood while navigating the fast-paced, high-pressure environment of Imperial. I am confident that my experiences have shaped me into the ideal candidate for this role. As president of my high school’s Programming and Development Club, I consistently communicated with staff to organise workshops and competitions that were heavily inspired by student feedback. Serving on a selective sustainability committee at the same high school, I helped improve the school's eco-footprint by collecting feedback from the student body and formalising practices for staff to follow to enhance sustainability based on student suggestions. Additionally, as co-captain of my varsity high school cross-country team, I gathered student opinions on our weekly training sessions to co-create a more balanced and convenient training plan for the team.

My experiences have equipped me with the leadership, organizational skills, and communication skills necessary for excelling in this role. I am very eager to stand for this position, and I hope you'll cast your vote for me!
