Hi everyone,
I’m Rayan Akhtar, a Third-Year Computing student at Imperial, and I’m running for Wellbeing Rep to make sure every student feels supported.
University can be stressful, and I want to create a more open, supportive environment where students can find help when they need it. My goal is to ensure that wellbeing isn’t just an afterthought but an active part of student life. I will work to improve mental health support by organising mindfulness sessions, outdoor activities, and stress-relief events, especially during busy academic periods like PintOS and summer exams. I also want to strengthen peer support by creating spaces for open conversations about mental health and wellbeing, helping students connect and support each other.
As an Academic Representative for STEMmuslims, I have experience advocating for student concerns and pushing for improvements. I will make sure your wellbeing needs are heard and addressed. I also want to encourage a healthier balance between studies and personal life by promoting better time management strategies and organising inclusive social events where students can relax and recharge.
Through my experience as a tutor, Academic Representative for STEMmuslims, and leadership roles in student societies, I have developed the skills to advocate for students and create real change. If you want a Wellbeing Rep who understands the challenges you face and is committed to making a difference, I’d love to have your vote.
