Yuchen Liu

Hi everyone, I’m Yuchen Liu from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Throughout my time at Imperial, I have gained extensive academic experience, including undergraduate research & academic publications, industrial R&D internships, academic collaborations with external research institutes, and academic entrepreneurship. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the challenges and needs of engineering students. I am committed to enhancing our learning experience and maximizing educational opportunities, which is why I am running for this position.

If elected, I'll strengthen communication between students, academic reps, departments and CGCU, bridging information gaps and establishing more effective notification and real-time feedback channels to ensure that all students are well-informed about education arrangements and all their voices can be directly heard immediately during terms. I will also work to expand access to UROP by more widely publicising available projects, therefore making academic exploration more accessible. Additionally, I aim to particularly improve students' projects and coursework experiences by reducing unreasonable and unnecessary workloads, making the academic training more refined.

Beyond academics, I will make great efforts to expand students’ access to industry-leading companies, research institutions, and global internships, ensuring that students are well-informed about industrial placements and research prospects worldwide. My goal is to create an academic environment that fosters both intellectual growth and practical experience.
