Hello everyone! I am Apollo (Huaihou) Yang, your current Spanner Bearer (Event Officer) at CGCU and Council Representative for UG Engineering students at ICU.
I was honoured to present myself with our symbolic Spanner mascot in hand at events like the Welcome Dinner, CGCA Formal Lunch, and Boat Party — and yes, I’ve even defended it from RSMU’s mischief!
Now, I’m stepping up as your candidate for Alumni Officer to strengthen our ties with the City and Guilds Association, the impactful network of Imperial engineering alumni with years of industry experience who each excelled at their professions.
If I get elected for this position, I would dedicate myself to work on the following:
- Build Stronger Alumni Connections: Through mentoring programs and events, I’ll bridge the gap between current students and our accomplished alumni.
- Expand Career Opportunities: By coordinating events like the CGCU Dinner, I’ll create platforms for students to connect with alumni and unlock career-focused opportunities.
- Represent CGCU at CGCA & OC Trust Meetings: I’ll work alongside the CGCU President to ensure our voice is heard and our legacy grows.
Together, we can build a connected, impactful, and professional network between CGCU students and CGCA Alumni, which could turn into invaluable resources as you enter and become involved in society in the near future.
