CGCU: Education Officer
Hi everyone! As engineering students, we deserve a strong voice when it comes to our education. From coursework structure to exam policies, the decisions made at faculty level directly impact our learning experience. As CGCU Education Officer, I will ensure that student concerns are heard, addressed, and acted on to help every student succeed.
As Education officer I will aim to:
- Improve Academic Support – Work with faculty to reduce workload, ensure adequate and timely feedback after every assessment, and expand access to revision materials, office hours, and study resources.
- Strengthen Student Representation – Work with Departmental Academic and Wellbeing reps to gather student feedback regularly through surveys/ town hall meetings, and push for improvements in coursework, exams, and teaching quality.
- Enhance Industry & Career Support – Collaborate with departments and sponsors to increase internship, mentorship, and research opportunities for students.
Having served as your secretary this past year I really enjoyed working with the CGCU committee, and hope to do so again next year. Looking forward to hearing your views and shaping the engineering union's academic future!
