CGCU: Wellbeing Officer

Hi everyone, my name is Marissa and I'm currently a first year molecular bioengineering student. Prioritizing our mental and physical health as students is especially important. As Wellbeing Officer, I’d bring stress-free vibes and good energy to our engineering community. Think puppy therapy days (because who doesn’t love dogs?), chill-out spaces with snacks, and fun, low-pressure social events where you can meet new people without awkward icebreakers. I’d also push for more accessible wellbeing support, making sure everyone knows where to turn when things get tough. I'd also emphasize on work-life balance – encouraging a healthier academic culture by working with the union to push for realistic deadlines, breaks between back-to-back lectures, and proper support during exam season. Another idea that I have in mind are weekly free tea & coffee sessions, I’ll set up weekly wellbeing drop-in sessions with free drinks and a space to chat, vent, or just take a break.

Most importantly, I want to create an environment where you feel heard, supported, and like you actually have time to breathe. So, vote for me, and let’s make wellbeing a priority! 😎
