ICSMSU: Welfare Vice Chair - Medical Biosciences
Hi, my name’s Tilly <3 and as Wellbeing Rep for the past two years for my cohort, I’ve helped out with welfare in ICSM, and let’s not sugarcoat it—it’s not exceptional! I’ve seen firsthand how welfare support can fall short, and I’m committed to making real changes to improve student well-being. If elected, I will:
- Improve the mitigating circumstances process for ICSM by advocating for clearer, fairer policies, ensuring decisions are more transparent, and pushing for better communication between students and faculty to reduce stress and uncertainty.
- Enhance welfare signposting so students can easily access the right support when needed, ensuring key resources are well-advertised and easy to navigate.
- Increase welfare-focused events to help build a stronger, more supportive community, including study support sessions, de-stress events, and opportunities to connect with peers.
- Work closely with academics to ensure that welfare and education go hand in hand, addressing concerns about workload and mental health impacts.
- Advocate for better student representation in welfare decisions, using my experience as a Wellbeing Rep to ensure student voices are heard
With my experience and dedication, I want to make meaningful changes that genuinely improve student welfare - thanks for reading !
