I am running for the Vice President position because I to help expand and strengthen the Bioengineering Society. My vision is to push the society beyond academic events to build a stronger community that offers both social and professional growth opportunities.
If elected, I will:
- Expand Social Engagement : Push for more social events, bowling, hyde park picnics, quizzes, baking competitions, in order to create a stronger sense of community among students and ease our minds from academic tasks. I will try to push for more funding for the usual big events like the christmas and spring formal and perhaps introduce a summer prom to end the following year on a high note!
- Enhance Career Development : Advocate for more career-focused events, including bringing attention to hackathons, projects, competitions designed to boost students’ bioengineering profiles.
- Strengthen Cross-Society Collaborations : Push for more partnerships with other societies to increase the visibility of bioengineering, keep pushing for social events like the take-me-out, and perhaps introduce a shared platform/website for general engineering study resources with other engineering societies to ask questions/compile notes.
- Prioritise Student Voices : Ensure open communication, actively gathering and representing student opinions to shape the society’s direction.
I believe communication is the key aspect for a successful society, and my priority will always be listening to students propositions. Let's make the next year one to remember and push bioengineering outside 9am's and never-ending labs!
Vote for me if you share my motivation to improve our student body! :)
