Esteemed archers,
This year’s beginner’s course brought the club many new skilled members, and with them, great success in SEAL’s novice league (3rd place overall as of 5th of March). As a club, we need to carry this momentum forward and keep improving our quality of teaching and expand our arsenal of resources available to seniors and novices alike so that all members can reach their full potential. I myself have found it very fulfilling to teach and aid people wherever possible, and I would like to continue honing this skill.
Should you entrust me with the role of vice captain, I will utilise feedback from this year’s beginner’s course in order to improve the next, and make the first steps into archery less overwhelming by providing clear information in a structured and systematic way (e.g. compiling senior-endorsed archery book/video/guide/etc recommendations). Building on a long-term club goal, I also want to improve our inclusivity, by increasing the club’s awareness of and resources for not just the physical challenges of archery but also the mental ones – the difficulty of the sport is famously equally dependent on both.
Thank you for your time!
