Mathematics: Vice President

Hey everyone,

My name is Folami Otulana, and I’m a first-year maths student excited to run for Vice President of MathSoc! Studying maths at Imperial has been an incredible experience—sometimes exhilarating, sometimes headache-inducing—but always rewarding. As VP, I want to ensure that every student feels supported, connected, and inspired both academically and socially.

A Society That Works for You

Let’s face it: the maths social scene could use some spice. I want to make MathSoc a hub of both fun and professional growth by:

  • Big, Bold, Better Events: More inter-departmental collaborations (think boat parties, maths vs. physics football, poker nights, themed pub crawls, and of course, FREE FOOD)
  • Expanding Academic Support: More structured peer mentoring, coursework help sessions, and revision boot camps
  • A More Inclusive Community: Ensuring everyone—regardless of background or ability—feels welcome. More casual meetups, group study sessions, and niche interest groups (maths & music, maths & AI, you name it!)

Careers? Sorted.

I will push for more tailored networking events—from quant finance to AI research—so that, whatever your ambition, MathSoc is your launchpad. More alumni talks, exclusive company visits, and internship panels will ensure that you graduate with not just a degree, but opportunities.

I promise to bring passion, dedication, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. If MathSoc were a matrix, voting for me would be the determinant of a great year ahead.

Vote Folami for VP!
