Alex Vasilev

Hello everyone!
My name is Alex, your current SPCDir and I am excited to be running for President this year (This seems to be becoming a pipeline). The past two years being a part of this incredible and occasionally insane society have been so fun and I would love the opportunity to continue the incredible work of Liberty and the rest of the current committee and to continue improving the society as a whole.

I intend to continue Liberty’s work in bridging the actor – tech divide and I believe that my experience doing Costume, which requires me to work with both the acting and technical side of a production, has provided me with unique experience in this area. Specifically, I would like to create a picture book sort of guide with key cable names/ light names/ general key information. This would be really useful for both cast and new crew.

While tech is a large part of our society, acting, directing and writing are also a huge part of the society! I would like to bring back acting workshops and add directing and writing workshops on a more regular basis. This would provide more opportunities for our actors to act without the commitment of a big show.
