Orchestra - Symphony: Chair

Hi, I’m Seo Won (pronounced so-one), the current Vice-Chair. First and foremost, I want to explain my values and general mindset in running for Chair.

Let’s be honest, life is hard enough in itself. I’ve greatly enjoyed being a part of ICSO. From talking to many people and also drawing from my own experiences, the sense of community can really make or break the orchestra. We all have varying reasons as to why we join and continue coming, whether that be for the repertoire or friends. Either way, any extra-curricular should be a source of enrichment to your time at university and work in harmony with other areas of your life. I want to keep it that way. How? I’ll largely focus on two areas:

  1. Fulfilment - As mentioned above, we all continue "to ICSO" for various reasons. That being said, there are going to be things you specifically may want to make ICSO more memorable and enjoyable for you, whether that be new socials, collaborations or external music opportunities. I’ll have a form and ears open to any ideas people want to bring to the table and am willing to work with you to make it happen.
  2. Fundamentals - We’re facing fairly big administrative changes with the Great Hall construction and Windsor Festival. I believe continuity will be useful in navigating the next year smoothly. I plan to make committee runnings as streamlined as possible for everyone involved.
