Students for Global Health: Deputy Chair
Hi, I’m Rama, a 4th-year Medical student running to be your Vice Chair!
Having been deeply involved in event planning, publicity, and volunteering initiatives, I understand what it takes to support team members and lead successful initiatives. My experience includes:
- For Supporting Events & Publicity: As Social Secretary & Sexpression Chair, I’ve coordinated two Fresher’s stalls. As Director of Publicity for Youth Med Aid, I’ve advertised for multiple speaker series, two annual Hackathons, and two Global Health careers events.
- For Supporting Projects & Volunteering: As RHSE Chair, I’ve led a community volunteering scheme, sending volunteers to schools across London. With Youth Med Aid, I’ve collaborated with London Model WHO, other SfGH and MSF committees, and non-Global Health societies (KCL Biomed, St George’s MedEd) to deliver on our annual Hackathons.
As Vice Chair, I plan to:
- Support the Projects and Volunteering Officer and Events Officer, ensuring they have appropriate guidance
- Work closely with the chair to set the strategic direction of SfGH and help develop long-term goals
- Collaborate with external groups, using my previous experience as a Director of Publicity
- Expand the Volunteering Scheme, recruiting more volunteers and strengthening our connections with PCPH
I look forward to supporting next year’s committee and making impactful, long-lasting changes! Thank you for your consideration :)
