Hi I'm Benedek and I'm running for BioSoc President!

This year I've been fortunate enough to have been Yeargroup Wellbeing Representative, and some of the things I've worked on include:

-Setting up initiatives for people to make new friends as they start university

-Adding free refreshments & ping pong equipment to our common room

-Helping people access extenuating support

-Organizing large social events for our cohort

-Supported our Biology Band, 'Pluto', in making it to the upcoming university finals

If elected, I will do even more to Biology back into Imperial's spotlight over the upcoming months, with plans already underway for some exciting departmental events including:

-An iconic Natural History Museum Ball in either the summer or autumn term

-Workshops and events for each yeargroup for internships, research placements, postgraduate study, and careers

-Fossil-hunting expeditions

-Biology research competitions

-Summer movie nights, picnics, and trips to the beach

-Departmental Sports Day

Additionally, I will organize opportunities for students to explore new knowledge within Biology. Taking inspiration from BioChem's successful 'cafe' sessions, I will organize similar events for Biology where guest lecturers discuss novel topics with students. To broaden collective interest, I will use recommendations on which topics to explore in these sessions.

There are still many more things that I am keen to organize, and I will always be open to suggestions; your vote can make these things possible. 🗳
