Yacht: Commodore

Hello sailors! My name is Leo, I am a physicist here at Imperial. As an active and loyal member of ICYC, and a current member of the committee as a secretary, I can confidently say I know both the ways of the wind, and the inner workings of the club itself.

As such, I am standing for the most integral position of the committee – the commodore.

My responsibilities as commodore will ensure smooth sailing all throughout the academic year, for the society, and for its members.

My main priorities this upcoming year, as commodore, would include,

  • Far more outreach to introduce new members to the society
  • More socials - jazz nights, union nights, game nights, collaborations with other societies. Expect it all!
  • More yachting trips at a lower cost – with the full potential of the union grant, expect heavy subsidisation of every yachting excursion!
  • A new range of merchandise in the upcoming year with a fresh design, and a much broader catalogue!
  • Rewiring the structure and the way our committee works, oiling up all the cogs and gears, to ensure ease and stability for the upcoming years.
  • International sailing trips – already in the working, expect trips to the Med in the upcoming year!

I hope you see my vision and support me as I make ICYC the rulers of the seven seas!
