I’m excited to run for Club Captain as hockey has been a huge part of my time here, and I want to help make our club even better.
As the L2 captain this year, I’ve developed my leadership skills, managed a largely new team, and kept things running smoothly (including the challenge of getting everyone to matches on time). Beyond hockey, my experience as RSMU Vice President Education and Regalia Officer has given me key skills in organisation, communication, and understanding how the union works.
I want to strengthen the connection between teams so everyone feels part of a supportive, inclusive club. I'll work closely with captains and the exec to make sure all players, regardless of skill level, get the most out of their hockey experience. I also want to integrate us more into the wider sports community with inter-club socials and fun, inclusive events off the pitch.
It’s also worth noting that, despite being a mixed club, we haven’t had a female Club Captain in years. Electing one would be a great step towards making our club more inclusive and reflective of our diverse membership.
With my experience, enthusiasm, and commitment to hockey (no matches missed this season and even some extras played for the L1s), I’d love the chance to lead our club into an exciting new season!
