Eleanor Russell

Rugby has been a huge part of my university experience, and I would love the opportunity to give back as Club Captain. Having served on executive committee for sports societies before including being rugby club captain before, where i learnt first hand how challenging the role can be and all the behind the scene admin that happens, because of this I have a good understanding of how the club operates and means I can step into the role with confidence, ensuring the club continues to thrive both on and off the pitch.

My love for rugby and this team drives me. I am committed to making the club the best it can be, whether that’s by improving training, supporting our team, or strengthening the sense of community that makes us so special. I want to ensure that every player—whether a seasoned veteran or brand new to the sport—feels supported, valued, and excited to be part of this club.

One key area I’d focus on is our relationship with Barnes. Having built a strong connection with Barnes players, committee and coaches, I’m in a great position to advocate for improvements that will benefit us and help us find a partnership agreement that works for us, from better pitch access to securing a more present, consistent coach.

If elected, I will work tirelessly to ensure that Women’s Rugby continues to grow, succeed, and remain a welcoming, competitive club for all. I would love the opportunity to lead this club again. 💙❤️🏉
