Stefan van Biljon

Hello everyone!

I'm Stefan, and I'm so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us this coming year! God has been faithful to the CU for many years and it is only by His grace and mercy that we have the privilege of sharing the gospel on campus. We recently received Imperial CU records dating back to 1933 - a beautiful reminder that God has been working through the CU for nearly a century.

The CU has the opportunity to run many events throughout the year, each helping us fulfil our vision. This coming year, our vision remains the same and we will continue to reach our campus through these events. We will consider how each event should be shaped to best reach every student on campus.

You might have noticed that our vision is quite specific, and that's intentional! Jesus has instructed us to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19) and we are uniquely placed to reach Imperial with the gospel. Reaching every student can feel like an insurmountable task, but we do so as justified people, saved by Jesus Christ alone. We are not saved by our works, and we know our status is given to us through the cross. As a result, we can share the gospel gladly, trusting that God is with us as He promised at the end of Matthew 28:

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)
