Ali Nayir
Hello everyone! I’m Ali Nayir, a first-year Mechanical Engineering undergraduate, originally from Istanbul, Türkiye, and I’m thrilled to announce my candidacy for Vice Chair Finance of MechSoc. Having enjoyed and benefited from the events and initiatives MechSoc has organized, I am eager to take on a leadership role to ensure that our society thrives financially while delivering the best possible experiences for our members.
With my experience as a STEM Scholar and Researcher at the Cambridge Centre for International Research, I have developed strong financial analysis and budgeting skills, working on predictive models and cost-efficiency strategies. These experiences have refined my ability to handle financial responsibilities with precision, ensuring every expenditure is optimized to maximize impact.
If elected, I will work diligently to ensure financial transparency, optimizing our budget to minimize unnecessary expenses while maximizing resources for events, projects, and opportunities. I will actively seek sponsorships and external funding to support the expansion of MechSoc’s initiatives, ensuring that flagship events like Curry Night and Winter Wonderland continue to thrive while also introducing new and exciting opportunities.
With my commitment to fostering growth, I am excited to take on this responsibility and contribute to the society’s success. Let’s make this an exciting and impactful year for MechSoc. Thank you for your support, and I hope to earn your vote!
