Bio Engineering: Treasurer

Hey guys!! My name is Sai, a first-year molecular bioengineering student who is passionate about being your treasurer and finally ready to help out behind the scences.

My motivation to run for this position began when I joined Imperial as a fresher - which was not too long ago. I was eager to connect with my coursemates—not just because we’d see each other daily, but because we shared the same academic and personal challenges. However, what I soon came to realise was that making friends in lectures or tutorials isn’t as easy as people make it out to be. This realisation gave me an appreciation for the role Bioengineering Soc plays in fostering community and camaraderie beyond day to day academics.

As treasurer, I’ll ensure to create a fine balance in spending, investing evenly between industry talks, career workshops, and social events to give students the best of both worlds—after all, isn’t that why we’re at uni? But beyond deciding what to and not to invest in, I aim to expand our budget and unlock the potential of Bioengineering soc as a commnuity. With nearly four years of experience fundraising for my high school’s international MUN conference, I worked with sponsors and donors to raise nearly £23,000 annually, acquiring a strong sense of fiscal responsibility and an array of networking skills that I plan on using to better Bioengineering soc’s budget.

A vote for me is a vote for my mission to transform Bioengineering soc into a real comunity.
