Hey guys, it’s your current MTB captain!
I’m also currently Management Group Chair for the Community sector so I
- Sit on Union Council, voting on major issues like rent increases.
- Regularly meet with the DPCS and the Clubs & Societies Project Board, where I’ve been actively involved in shaping the new annual budgeting process launching in March.
- Oversee 28 societies’ finances, approving claims, purchase orders, and event budgets.
- Help manage the £25,000 Trip Fund, reviewing and giving input on funding applications.
On top of that, I have managed to secure an extra £460 from the ADF fund, covering all travel costs for the downhill team to get to BUCS in Scotland – completely free this June!
Why I Want This Role:
- Membership fees are way too high, and now we’re at a five-year low in numbers. This directly limits the grant funding we can get and stops the club from growing. I want to fix that.
- I’ll be on good terms with the next Deputy President and will work closely with Gino (Likely next year’s Cycling President) to make sure road events are well-funded and accessible while still securing more for MTB. A bigger, better club benefits both disciplines.
- I want to see a better Welcome Fair stall, more social media presence, and more trips so we can get more people riding.
This club should be cheaper, bigger, and better funded – and I know how to make that happen. Vote for me, and let’s sort it.
