Samantha Chow

Hello everyone! I’m Samantha, a 1st-year Materials student, and I’d love to be your secretary next year! With experience in organisation, communication, and teamwork, I will help ensure MatSoc runs smoothly and efficiently.

As an Assistant Director in MTSoc, I’m used to managing multiple tasks, sticking to schedules, and presenting artistic ideas constructively — perfect for handling meeting minutes and correspondence. I have also worked as an outreach ambassador for Discover Materials and contribute to Felix Newspaper, giving me strong communication skills to liaise with the committee, department, and the student body.

I’m committed to strengthening engagement within MatSoc, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to get involved. From keeping meetings productive to coordinating merch sales and organising the summer tour, I will help coordinate a range of activities. I also believe we can improve MatSoc merch, so expect more to come if I become secretary!
