Ji Oh Lee
Halo semuanya! My name is Ji Oh, and I would love to be your secretary next year!
You may be wondering—why is a Korean running to be the secretary for the Indonesian society? but trust me, I am just as Indonesian as I am Korean.
Having lived in Indonesia for the past 12 years, I have immersed myself in the Indonesian culture for as long as I can remember. From fasting with my friends during Ramadan and enjoying bukber feasts with nasi kuning, rendang, ayam goreng, kangkung, (and much more!), to my first-ever tahu isi with cabe rawit after a football game, Indonesia has been my home.
This year, having attended most of the IndoSoc events –from the CNY lunch and poker games to representing Imperial IndoSoc at the annual PPI IndoSoc football cup– I felt a piece of Jakarta right here in London; I hope to bring that same sense of home to every member of IndoSoc.
With experience as a president of two clubs, I have honed key skills in organisation, time management, and workload balancing—essential qualities for a secretary. But beyond handling administrative duties, I also hope to foster an inclusive and welcoming community that all members (regardless of where they’re from) can feel a sense of belonging,
I’d love the opportunity to help the IndoSoc community continue to thrive and terima kasih for reading until the end :)
P.s. the photo was taken in with a stray dog in bali (I miss those days…)
