Archery: Records Officer

Hi, I'm Sahra :D

~ a second-year medic running to be YOUR next Record officer for ICAC, following the footsteps of my predecessor, Ricardo. He walked so I could run... and force everyone to shoot barebow🏹

Archery is genuinely one of my favourite parts about uni, so much so that I showed up to an early Thursday morning shoot before a GP presentation (don't ask me how). Since starting my archery journey as a complete beginner last year, I've always felt welcomed - even when I would shoot the wood of a boss....multiple times. NOW, I'd love to give back & support the same people who cheered me on when I scored my first 10!

Why pick me?

2nd place Novice Barebow Women in Brunel Non-Recurve SEAL 23-24 + Former beginner course member
- so I know what it's like to feel completely out of your depth in a competitive setting
I'm organised & don't despise spreadsheets too much
I'm enthusiastic about getting everyone involved with comps, especially the beginners!!

My Plans as Record Officer:

Host mini-competitions at the end of each term for ALL archers: beginner or experienced
- including one dedicated BAREBOW comp to encourage (force) archers to go back to their roots - no sights, no stabilisers, no mercy
Celebrate new PBs in the club & introduce improvement awards for beginners

Whether you're a casual archer or someone who thrives off comps, I believe a little rivalry in the safe space of our club is never a bad thing :)
