Word on the street: some PhD student is trying to send you off to compete in more archery comps! While giving you shiny badges as well!
And that person is me! It's true, I love archery competitions, and as your Records Officer, I'd like to encourage club members to try competing as well! I would like to facilitate those who are interested in going up against fellow archers of other clubs, meet like-minded people, and maybe learn something from each other.
Even if you're not sure about your skill just yet, that's ok! I will also help archers track their progress, and give out badges as rewards for hitting certain goals, like getting a good score, getting x number of arrows in the gold, or even breaking the club record. If you like collectibles, now's your chance to get some trinkets to decorate your quiver with!
I've been the Records Officer once before already, so I am confident that I can take up the role smoothly. I've liased with other clubs to organise SEAL, picked our team for comps, and painstakingly input each score onto Tamlynscore after a comp (thank God we have digital scoring now). I know what's required of this role, and I aim to do even better by giving out more information on external competitions and letting members know clearly the list of badges they can aim for.
Thank you for your time and I hope to see you next SEAL!
