Cross Country & Athletics: Athletics Captain

Tom and Alastar are running as athletics co-captains.

Our Vision

Alastar and Tom have been training together with Imperial for 18 months, making us well-integrated into the Imperial and Thames Valley Harriers partnership. In our three point plan, we are committed to making athletics at ICXAC both more competitive at the top end, more appealing for newer and more casual athletes, and optimise the costs of track and field athletes to ICXCAC.

Our consistent focus on clear, timely communications throughout these three goals will ensure that every athlete at Imperial is aware of – and can fully benefit from - the opportunities that are available to them, and that those opportunities are maximised within the London-TVH-Imperial athletics ecosystem.

Why are there two of us?

Athletics captain is not the heaviest of committee roles. There need to be two of us to grow what is on offer for athletes at Imperial, and we recognise that most ICXCAC committee members will be focused on the excellent and inclusive distance running side of things.

Why Alastar?

I’m dedicated to all things athletics as current postgrad rep of ICXCAC, LUCA's officiating secretary and recurrent field official, multiple relay medalist with Imperial at LUCA matches, and compiler of the club's most up-to-date records sheet.

Sports day!

Imperial needs a friendly local competition to encourage new athletes into sport and give students across the college a chance to showcase their skills. We will organise a pan-Imperial sports day to that effect.
