Alex Brown

Hey, We're Alex and Ilya and we're running as a joint candidacy to be your Chair and Vice President of FilmSoc next year. We are both cinephiles with a love for great storytelling in all forms.

Our main aims for the society:

More varied screenings: Whether you're a lover of big screen classics, French New Wave or Marvel movies we aim to cater for all lovers of film and want to share the joy of cinema with big screenings. Furthermore, we will showcase films made by Imperial students as we want to promote as many talented creatives as possible from within our uni.

Film events: We will continue the society's subsidising of cinema trips and aim to attend more film industry events such as film premieres and the yearly London film and short film festivals. Another aim is to get Imperial alumni and professionals in the industry to give talks and workshops on the filmmaking process. We're also looking at planning international trips which will be nicely subsidised to film festivals in Europe.

Socials: Regular socials ranging from union visits after screenings to Pub crawls along the Strand after late-night screenings! We aim to partner with other London uni filmsocs such as Queen Mary's and UAL for joint socials.

We're looking forward to growing this society and welcoming in new members!
