Sailing: Race Captain

Hello everyone, my name is Clementine, and I am running to be your Race Captain for the 25/26 season. Sailing has been my passion for as long as I can remember, and I have dedicated a big part of my life to competing, coaching, and striving for excellence in this sport. With my experience and commitment, I am confident I can help push Imperial Sailing to the next level.

My Experience & Achievements:

29er World Champion
5x Irish National Champion
Bronze at the U21 Team Racing World Championships
First Team member

Having sailed competitively since I was 10, I have trained under countless coaches and gained a diverse range of knowledge from different perspectives. My background in double-handed boats gives me a deep understanding of crewing dynamics, boat handling, and teamwork – all essential aspects of competitive racing. I am also a qualified instructor with previous coaching experience.

My Goals for the Team:

Perfect boat handling and speed through structured, high-intensity training
Sharpen our starting strategies through focused training drills
Improve crew/helm communication for stronger partnerships and faster boats
Build a cohesive team through clear communication and productive sessions

I believe in a ‘work hard, play hard’ mentality – balancing serious training with a great team atmosphere. If elected, I will ensure our squad is well-organised, competitive, and most importantly, always improving.
