Claire Heimgartner

Hi everyone! I’m Claire, and I’m running to be your Publicity & Marketing Officer because I want to make sure that every biochem student knows just how much our department has to offer, whether that’s sweet socials, academic events, or just a sense of community.

Before coming to Imperial, the ICBiochem Instagram was my first insight into what life as a student here would be like. It made me excited to join, and I want to continue that legacy by making our social media as engaging and entertaining as possible. Having worked in publicity for nonprofits back in New Zealand, and being chronically online, I know how to put together eye-catching promotional content, whether that’s hype for an event, an informative post, a highlight reel or a meme that keeps people interested.

Some of my favourite moments this year have been at the boat party, take-me-out, dodgeball, pub quiz, BioInnovate. However, I noticed that many students from my cohort weren’t there! I’d love to boost engagement and make sure more people know about these events, so they don’t miss out on the highlights of the year, and the opportunity to know more people outside of lectures.

I’d also love to introduce some Biochem merch, it would include practical, cute, and affordable items like stationery, T-shirts, or laptop stickers that people actually want to use. I’ll take your ideas for merch and turn them into reality!
