Hello everyone! I'm Joanna, a first-year medical student, and I need your vote!

Surgical Society is one of the largest and most dynamic societies at Imperial, known for its major national conferences, many of which I’ve had the opportunity to attend this year. I’m already familiar with how the society operates due to my continual engagement, but this year, I’m eager to take on a more active role to share my ideas and be involved in the organising and running of events.

I believe this year is the year that SurgSoc becomes THE biggest society in Imperial. I have dreams of even more growth, development and engagement with other universities and healthcare companies. Of course, with growth comes challenges and that's where I come in! My eagerness and never-ending drive will ensure that we have the facilities and expertise to operate all the activities that we will be running. I have had experience running an entire society previously when I was president of MedSoc, therefore, I believe I have the skills to effectively contribute to the society.

Not only that, but with my enthusiasm and creativity, I believe I can contribute to SurgSoc’s growth. I’m not afraid to share my strong opinions, and as a first-year student, I think I can offer a fresh perspective that would benefit the society.
