Ammar Motala for President of General Practice Society

As President I aim to create a dynamic and supportive community for students exploring a career in General Practice. With extensive experience in leadership and event organisation, I have successfully managed teams of over 50 individuals to coordinate a wide range of educational and charitable events, giving back to both students and the wider community. Through my work with Medology, Preclinique and Muslim Medics, I've delivered high-impact tutorials, organised large-scale events, and fostered mentorship opportunities. My leadership within these roles as well as the Imperial Islamic Society, where I headed their annual charity campaign, has further strengthened my ability to bring people together for meaningful causes.

As President, I will:

• Organise an inspiring GP conference, connecting students with faculty and experienced GPs.

• Launch a teaching series on pathways into General Practice and life as a GP.

• Provide structured support for GP-related projects and placements, helping students make the most of their time in general practice

• Facilitate more networking events to build relationships between students, practicing GPs and faculty.

• Focus on nurturing and upskilling my committee, ensuring they develop leadership and organisational skills while delivering exceptional opportunities for the future of general practice!

Working alongside Saad and the rest of the committee, I'm passionate about making General Practice Society a hub of learning, mentorship and career development. With your support, we'll build an inspiring and impactful society together.
