Ananya Sachdev
Hi, I am Ananya and I'm running to be president of ICOGS! I am deeply passionate about women's health, and am excited to foster a community of like minded individuals and encourage education and advocacy surrounding it. Disparities in provision of women's health are persistent, and as future doctors it is important to address them.
Organising and attending icogs events has been a highlight of my academic year, and as president I would like to organise:
Termly hands-on workshop/skill building days to enhance clinical learning.
A mentorship scheme with O&G professionals, career panels, and guidance on training applications.
Programs to address disparities in the field such as on period poverty, reproductive rights, and maternal health, in collaboration with charities and other universities.
Opportunities to volunteer in areas with disparities in care (both in England and abroad).
Leadership positions in cultural, sports and academic societies at university have honed my leadership and team work skills. I also bring in volunteering experience working with women in rural areas in India to increase menstrual health and resource access. Seeing firsthand the disparities in resource and care provision has further driven my passion.
Being a part of icogs has been an extremely rewarding and eye opening journey of learning for me, surrounded by a community of inspiring individuals. I would love the opportunity to lead this society and not only enhance education but also inspire a real-world impact, and inspire more young future doctors.
